90% of time its theme where its not compatible or a plugin that conflicts.
So try and deactivate all plugins and see if that solves the problem If it does then activate one at time and check your website till you find the one that is causing the problem.
If does not solve the problem then switch back to default twentyten theme and see if that solves the problem.
If I cannot login in how do I deactivate plug ins
First lets switch back to twentyten theme see if that solves the problem
using ftp log in on server and rename your theme to something else
you will find it wp-content/themes/yourtheme
this will force wordpress to switchback to a working twentyten theme.

When I change the name it just goes to a white blank page
Since you can not log in as admin need to deactivate plugins as 90% of time conflicts in theme and plugins or your plugin that is not compatible.
Follow this steps to deactivate your plugins by
creating an empty plugins folder
* Via FTP or your host’s control panel, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
* Via FTP or your host’s control panel, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
* Via FTP or your host’s control panel, create new folder called “plugins”
* Login to your WordPress administration menus
* Via FTP or your host’s control panel, delete the empty “plugins” you previous created
* Via FTP or your host’s control panel, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”
If you can log in then activate one at time see which plugin is causing the problem.
I followed these instructions as given and still just a white blank page at login
Well that was not it. I received a comment and I clicked on the link to trash it and it went right in. but if I try to login straight from the admin loging page it goes blank. From there if I logout and then logback in I get in.
