Login and Register using my theme

    Ok I’ve searched for answers to this problem but can’t seem to find any. Is there any way to make the Login / Register pages appear within my theme? I would like to keep the whole site (except for the admin pages) looking the same. I am using the login sidebar hack so that the login appears within my sidebar and have made a copy of the wp-login script to redirect back to may main page after login & logout but now I would like to do something similar with register but am not sure how to go about it.

    1> is it possible to have the login / register functionality all controlled from the sidebar without having to use wp-login & wp-register?

    or

    2> Is is possible to have the login / register functions appear on my main page with my theme still in place?

    Any help for a noob would be greatly appreciated.

    It’s possible 🙂

    If you open wp-register.php and scroll down, you see regular webpage code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    etc ………
    So you can treat that exactly as you would a theme page – just don’t mess with the wp code that is there, and keep backups as you go.

    I created a new page for the log-in that uses the current theme the user has activated and after the user has logged in it will take him/her to the main page and not to the dashboard. For this I used a hack that I found on this site and modified the code a bit for it to look better.     I’m currently searching for a way to change the registration form so it works in a similar way as the login page. Any help is welcomed.
