Is event 1003 for attempts at logging in to the WordPress Dashboard, or my site’s login page, or either? I assumed it was the WordPress Dashboard, but after changing the default WordPress login page I still get 1003’s. Is someone guessing my new wp login page name, or is it my site’s login page that a non-existent user is trying? I cannot tell from the log. Thanks.

    Hello @danearnold

Thank you very much for your using our plugin.

Event ID 1003 is reported when there is a failed login on WordPress website. This could be on both the default login page, and non default login pages (such as those created by e-commerce and membership plugins).

If you have changed the login page URL and you are still seeing event ID 1003 it means that there are still failed logins occurring on your website. It could be that someone has guessed the new login page URL, unless you have other login pages.

However, I wouldn’t worry much about these type of failed logins. These are normal and you can never get rid of them when you have a website, since most of them, if not all, are automated. You can read more about this subject in handling WordPress failed logins.

I hope the above helps. Should you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
