Login Issues with GoDaddy Hosted WordPress

    Hello all,

    I am having a very confusing issue with my wordpress.
    I have a site hosted through goDaddy.com and installed wordpress.
    For the most part, everything works fine, when I goto site.com/wp-admin and log in, everything works as expected.
    How ever, if i try to login at wordpress.com with the same information, it says the password is incorrect. I know that the information is right, but i have attempt to reset it anyways, but did not receive an email.
    I believe that my login information is only on my goDaddy server, and someone else has my username on wordpress.
    I want to setup jetpack on my site, but I can not authorize in without it being connected to a wordpress account,
    so how can i get a account to relate to my site,
    or how can skip this step in jetpack setup?

    You need to create a new user account on WordPress.COM to use JetPack:

    http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/jetpack/installation/

    WordPress.COM is separate from your WP install on GD and separate from your account here.

    Try making an account at wordpress.com with that username. My guess is that your reset request was simply ignored since (or if) that account does not yet even exist there.

    Okay, my user name was already taken on WP, and for some reason, i would not lemt me use me email either.
    So, I had to make a new account with a different name and email on wordpress, but pointing jetpack to that account still worked even though it is a different name, different email, and different blog.
    Still confused about how it worked, but it is resolved now, thanks.

    Your user name on WordPress.COM doesn’t matter at all – it’s not related to your site or to your account here – so that’s totally to be expected. Glad to hear it’s working now :)!
