    Hi,

thought I would try and get this feature to work.

    Here’s my settings:

    Enable login lockout feature: ticked
    Allow unlock requests: unticked
    Max login attempts: 5
Login retry time period (min): 5
    Minimum lockout time length:15
    Maximum lockout time length: 60
    Display generic error message: ticked
    Instantly lockout invalid usernames: ticked
    Notify by email: ticked

    Here’s the problem.

If the login attempt is wrong you get locked out on the first attempt.

    Emails are never sent.

I have had this problem ever since using the plugin around 5 years. I have used 3 different themes in this time and also 3 different hosting providers all with the same result.

Any ideas to help me resolve this issue would be great

    Thanks

    Hi @darryl1

It has mentioned that “Instantly lockout invalid usernames” is ticked means if you try with invalid username it will lockout with first attempt.

If you are entering correct username and then it should locked after 5 attempts as per settings ( Also depends if your IP address changed in between it may be more attempts you will be locked out.)

    HI,

that makes sense. This part is working correctly now I understand.

I’m still not receiving emails though, is there anything I might be missing here?

    Hi @darryl1

To receive the email regarding login lockout you need to enable Notify by email by entering correct email address(es)

It will send using cronjob every 30 min the mail regarding any new last lockouts. If you are not getting email notification please cross check emails are received correctly using WP Mail SMTP , and Email Log plugin.

    Regards
