You can add a logout menu from your default menu settings. You do not need to create it using programmatically. Since the account page provides the login form, you can directly add your account page to your menu.

I have just added a LOGOUT menu link.
I would have LOGIN menu link that automatically becomes LOGOUT menu link as the user logged in. Is it possible?

Since the plugin’s automatic login/logout menu is unavailable, we can suggest two solutions to fulfill your requirement.
1) Create the custom login menu on your site and show or hide the menu using Custom CSS according to the user status.
2) Use a third-party plugin like User Menu. Here is the link to the plugin https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/user-menus.
