    Kia ora Profile Builder Support,

I am the website administrator for the Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Hikairo website.

I am having an issue using the Profile Builder login shortcode inside an Elementor popup.

    Website:
    https://ngatihikairo.iwi.nz

    Plugin context:

    • WordPress
    • Elementor
    • Elementor Pro popups
    • Profile Builder
    • Profile Builder Pro

The shortcode I am trying to use is:

    [wppb-login redirect_url=”https://ngatihikairo.iwi.nz/home-page/ngati-hikairo-edit-your-profile/” register_url=”https://ngatihikairo.iwi.nz/home-page/ngati-hikairo-registration-form/” lostpassword_url=”https://ngatihikairo.iwi.nz/home-page/recover_password/“]

I also tested the shortcode in a dedicated Elementor Shortcode widget rather than a Text Editor widget.

    Issue:
When the Profile Builder login shortcode is added to the Elementor popup, the popup stops behaving correctly. The close button / X no longer works, and other popup interactions appear to stop responding. If I remove the Profile Builder login shortcode, the Elementor popup closes normally again.

    I have tested the following:

    • Removed the shortcode entirely: popup close button works again.
    • Added the shortcode using an Elementor Shortcode widget: popup displays, but close behaviour breaks again.
    • Tried placing the shortcode widget inside its own separate Elementor container: issue still occurs.
    • Other Elementor popups on the same site close correctly.
    • The issue appears specific to this popup when the Profile Builder login shortcode is present.

I would like to know whether Profile Builder’s [wppb-login] shortcode is fully supported inside Elementor Pro popups, or whether there is a known conflict with the generated login form markup/scripts.

    Could you please advise:

    1. Whether this is a known compatibility issue with Elementor popups.
    2. Whether there is a recommended way to embed [wppb-login] inside an Elementor popup.
    3. Whether any JavaScript/CSS setting could cause the Profile Builder login form to block the Elementor popup close button.
    4. Whether I should instead use a dedicated login page rather than embedding the login form inside a popup.
    5. Whether there is a safer shortcode format I should use, for example relative URLs instead of full URLs.

For reference, the same shortcode format appears to match your shortcode documentation, so I do not think this is a syntax issue.

    Regards,
    Geoff Barton

    Hello @hiriwhi,

I have tested this on a local instance and the pup-up seemed to behave normally. Trying to close it using the close button worked correctly as well.

    1. There are currently no known issues when it comes to Elementor pop-ups and our plugin.
    2. There is no specific or recommended way of adding a shortcode to Elementor Pop-ups.
    3. While this could be a source for an issue like this, we can’t know for certain unless we investigate.
    4. Using a dedicated page for your login form might be a simpler solution and more intuitive for your users but this does not mean that you shouldn’t use Elementor pop-ups.
    5. The shortcode format you have used does not affect this issue.

Could you please send me a link to the exact page where this pop-up is visible?
