Logo disappears

I’m trying to set up using the theme and have been following the video. I added my logo successfully and get the menu to show, but when I add header images they both disappear.

The editing screen shows a “pencil” to edit where the logo should be, but the logo doesn’t show. I can only get it to come back by removing all header images and then re-selecting my logo. When I add headers again, it disappears again.
