Hello,
The logo size is specified in the theme. You must crop the image to the size recommended by this theme.
While you can crop images to your liking after clicking Add new image, your theme recommends a header size of 300 × 66 pixels.

I’m having the same issues as a few others on the thread.
The topic title is my issue:
Slider is not properly configured
I’ve done everything instructed.
I’ve developed many wordpress sites so I have a little experience
I created a featured category. I went through options chose the correct category
and the number of slides. I removed and reinstalled the theme, but get the same results.
Please help,

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
Please make sure that you have configured the slider settings correctly in the theme slider options and share me the screenshot of it.

For screenshots, you can simply provide a link to an image through Google Drive, Dropbox, screencast.com, http://imgur.com/ or other image service. 🙂
