In your dashboard go to ‘Appearance’ > ‘Customize’ > ‘Site Identity’ and you’ll see the ‘Select logo’ button.
Hmm I’m in there right now and there’s no “Select Logo” button. Only “Logo – Top Margin”. Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like: https://www.screencast.com/t/er1napnXE
OK, it should be right at the top above Logo – Top Margin setting.
First thing to check is whether it is a plugin that is removing the Logo setting (you’re also missing the Site Icon setting below Site Copyright).
Temporarily disable all plugins, check if the Logo setting is where it should be. If it is then reactivate your plugins one-by-one to find which plugin is removing it.
Ok I tried that it didn’t work…
And I do have the Site Icon, it’s just scrolled down more.
Any ideas?
The Logo setting is a core WordPress function and is independent of the Claremont theme, so it should also be there other in other themes such as Twenty Seventeen.
Can you go to Appearance > Themes, hover over Twenty Seventeen and click Live Preview button and then in the customizer go into ‘Site Identity’ and let me know if you see the Logo setting?
Ok yea just did that, it seems to be apperaing fine on the 2017 version: https://www.screencast.com/t/Bvidg1GdiHB6
Oh wait, I just checked and it’s now working on the theme! Not sure why it wasn’t before… anyway, thanks for your help I’m good to go now
Glad it’s working OK now.
Just looked again at the 1st image that shows the old ‘Collapse’ button in the customizer sidebar, so it looks possibly like you were running an older version of WordPress (prior to version 4.5??) that did not have the logo setting in the customizer, and that is why it was missing.
