The following PHP warning is spamming the logs on our WP-Engine site:
PHP Warning: parse_ini_file(/etc/php/8.2-zend/fpm/php.ini): Failed to open stream: Permission denied in /nas/content/live/oursite/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-square/vendor/apimatic/jsonmapper/src/JsonMapper.php on line 134
The site has been upgraded to PHP 8.4 a while ago, all caches have been cleard but woocommerce-square seems to sit with the (disabled) php8.2

    Hi there,

Thank you for sharing the details and for bringing this to our attention.

The warning you’re seeing occurs because the plugin is attempting to read a system-level PHP configuration file, which is restricted on some hosting environments. This is a PHP warning, not a fatal error, and does not indicate a problem with your active PHP version or affect WooCommerce Square functionality.

I’ve tried to replicate this issue on my end using PHP 8.4, but I was not able to see any warning messages.

Could you please let me know if you notice the warning after any specific action, such as viewing the Orders page, syncing products/orders, or updating plugin settings? This will help us better identify what might be triggering it.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved.
