Use CSS float:left and Float:right properties to handle this.
You can also use CSS position Properties to handle if needed.
Do you have a link to your site and I can take a look? I didn’t see a link in your post.

I’m afraid I don’t have coding experience so I’ll need some hand holding.
Thanks for the link…so far your site is looking good, so it’s just the logo you are wanting to add, but I have a few questions:
1. Are you wanting to use only a logo or a logo with the site title and tagline?
2. Is it possible to add your logo to the site right now so I can take a look? I will wait here and watch for it.
As for not having coding experience, not to worry, I’m here to help you.
Okay, I’ll add it now. I just want a small logo in the upper left corner, added to everything that’s already there.
I like the size the logo is now but it’s not in the right place.
Ah…now I see why. Your logo image is too large. If you have a way to make it smaller first before uploading it, that will work for you then. If you are unable to do that, there is another solution, although it’s best to make your logo smaller so it helps keep your page load times to a minimum.
If you can make your logo smaller before uploading it, try to make it somewhere around 100px in width (which is how the live demo site has it:
http://demos.shapedpixels.com/longevity/
Also, make sure all that empty space around the “actual” logo (the image) is removed as well because that takes up a lot of area too.
I’ve got this smaller one 200 x 200 but it’s too far away from the corner.
Also, I’ve just noticed that the title is no longer on one line.
the problem now is that your logo image has a lot of empty space around the logo. Meaning that the logo image has a lot of white space. If you can remove that from the image by cropping it so that only the logo itself is the image. Are you able to do that?
Better but still not right in the corner and Title still not on one line.
OK…we’re almost there. Now, from what I can see in your code, you have a child theme active (which is great!).
I will give you some custom CSS to add to your child theme’s style.css file.
First thing we want to do is adjust the font size of the title, so copy this:
.site-title {
font-size: 2.25rem;
}
Next, let’s adjust the logo position a little bit:
#logo {
margin-top: -10px;
}
Do I just add it to the bottom of what’s already on that page of code?
If you already have some css in your child theme’s style.css…yes.
Definitely better, but can we get the log more in the corner?
