Look and Feel Changes

Would like to do a few minor alterations to the look n feel.
Would like to know where the edits should take place: in the hard code templates or are there settings which can be adjusted:
– login page
– removing the “.com is powered by WordPress”
– changes to the themes
– adding a graphic logo in place of the written logow
