You can use http://postieplugin.com/downloads/category-per-user-addon/ if your email server allow you to specify multiple email addresses for the same account.
Gmail allows this for example.
I thought of that but we have users (teachers) who post to multiple categories.
I’m open to additional ideas
I’m assuming you want the teacher to be the author?
Greatcreator. Just curious what is the benefit of selecting the category by the email address rather than the Subject line selection method? Does your approach auto restrict certain users to a certain category? If someone emailed to one of your defined emails and then added news: to the subject line, would the post got to news or to the defined email category?
It’s simply familiarity.
Old blog was on Blogspot. I have 75 teachers that are accustom to sending homework posts to designated email addresses. We’ve tried to retrain them to include category in subject but they keep F**King up. Huge headache.
Boss lady wants to go back to old system. Each category has it’s own designated email address.
ANY HELP will be compensated.
Thanks
JJ
The only realistic way to use Postie in this context is to set up the various email accounts to forward to central account and automatically add the correct category to the subject line as part of the forwarding rule.
That is a great idea. Can you advise where/how I would I set that up?

Alternatively, if you don’t need to retain the original email address you can use basic forwarding for each category address and use the Category Per User AddOn to assign the category.
