My understanding from a friend who has used WordPress a lot more than I have (I’m new to this) is that the free themes are usually lacking in documentation and support to some extent. Layla is also really new, so there doesn’t even seem to be much support on this message board because not too many people are using yet I guess.
Maybe you can look at older Smartcat themes and see how well supported (or not) they are to give you some idea of how this one will go. For a free theme, it has a lot of customization, so that’s why I chose it.

I agree, but I don’t want to get a few months down the road with several WordPress upgrades and have a site not secure or running properly.
I don’t mind paying.. if I had that option.

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering if they’d offer a pro version. I have to say though, that it doesn’t seem like their developers visit the forum much, if at all. Or if they do, they don’t answer anything. Even answering that the functionality isn’t available in the theme would be helpful. Or that they’re adding a feature to do that. Or anything really to let us know someone is out there listening to these questions.
