Looking for easy, reliable theme

    I’m new at this and helping a friend start a website who is even less experienced than me. I’ve read that if you don’t find the perfect theme you need to set up a parent-child so you don’t have problems in the future. So, before I try to tackle that, I would love to find a perfect theme. Free, of course, would be great. Easy and reliable would be great for handing it over to her. I was thinking about Responsive, and recently tried it on another site and it went wonky when I updated. I still haven’t figured out how to fix it. Any theme suggestions? It’s for an organization about trauma healing with info, forums, blogs, events, podcasts, video.

    There is no such thing as a perfect theme 🙂 … and creating a child theme simply allows you to make changes without losing them when the theme is updated. It’s ALWAYS a good idea to do that upfront as doing it later is much more work.

    You can see feedback by looking at the theme reviews page for the theme and/or the support tab – see what people have said and how well the developer supports the theme.
