Looking for slideshow with certain features

I don’t know if this is where I should ask for random advice, but I’m wondering if there is a plugin or otherwise a simple way to get a slideshow along the lines of those that I see at a lot of sites… with words for one, where the “post” itself is basically a set of slides with commentary relating to pictures. These are popular for top 10 lists and so on.

Also, I have seen a few sites that have this feature where an ad area slides out of the side, such as on this – http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/trailers/397423-new-poster-and-trailer-for-david-cronenbergs-maps-to-the-stars#/slide/1

The poster is in a slideshow of 1 slide in order to manage the ad.

Just curious if there is a simple way to get these features that I’m missing. I’ve searched around, but don’t find any plugins that do these things well.
