• The more I use ‘bootstrap’ type themes the more boring they are. They are all the same in general and every site looks similar, there just isn’t enough variety.

    I am looking for either:

    1. Old style themes that actually have images for the menus, posts, etc.

    or

    2. A good wysiwyg editor (not dreamweaver), so I can make an actual html website with Photoshop.

If someone could point me in either or both directions, I would appreciate it. I don’t mind purchasing themes, if I could just find what I’m looking for. I’ve purchased a lot of themes and builders already, but this bootstrap style website just isn’t working for three of my sites I need something with more graphics (not photos) to set it apart from the rest of the websites.

    Thanks in advance…

    That’s not how WordPress works.

I know that’s not how WP works. If I can’t find a theme that works, then I want to make my own html site without using WP.

Done this and can’t find anything other than bootstrap style themes.

Bootstrap is a responsive framework, it has NOTHING to do with what a website looks like. Themes also. They are just a bunch of code. You as the website creator must make the website look like you want it to. When shopping for a theme, the preview or demo is the developer’s rendition and content. You can do ANYTHING with code.

I create all of my WordPress sites from a blank theme I created myself and every site looks different like what the customer wants. It is based on Bootstrap for responsiveness but everything is styled to match the design. Unless you looked at the code, there is no way to tell Bootstrap was even used.

Think of Bootstrap as the 2×4’s a home is built with, it provides the structure. The theme is the siding, paint, windows, landscaping…. They can all be changed and customized very easily.

A good web designer can create a great looking PSD design and then transfer to either HTML or WordPress depending on your needs for a website.

There are no good WYSIWYG editors. 99% of web designers/developers use text editors like Sublime Text and the browser.

You sound a little confused as to what WordPress actually does and the differences between a CMS site and a hard-coded HTML site.

I suggest you consult with a professional web designer to see what your requirements are and what type of website will suit your needs.
