Losing all settings when disabling plugin

    WordPress Version 5.4.1
    Hummingbird Version 2.4.1

    We had an issue with our site and started deactivating plugins to find out where the conflict was. We deactivated Hummingbird and then reactivated it when we ruled that out as the source of the issue. But then I went to check the settings and discovered that everything was as if I had just installed the plugin. Caching was off, and all the Advance Asset Optimization settings were gone. This took me hours to tweak it just right for our site and now I have to go through all that again. Needless to say I am not happy at this moment.

    I found an old thread from 1 year and 6 months ago that reported this same issue and is marked Resolved, but it isn’t resolved.

    Hello @allennichelabs,

    The issue tasked last time was resolved in a fresh release but this one as you are reporting seems not to be relating to the last one.

    When I deactivated and activated the plugin, the settings in the Asset Optimization did stay but when I specifically turn on the Asset Optimization and turn it back on, the settings would be gone as it would fetch for all the new assets freshly and that is expected behaviour.

    I just ran a test and made one change to the Advanced Asset Optimization, disabled the plugin, then re-enabled it and checked the settings. My change was still there, so I don’t know what caused the settings to disappear before. A little disconcerting but I guess you can disregard this.
