Losslessy compressing images

    Thank you for such a wonderful program. After using your plugin my page speed via Google’s Page Speed Insights has improved by about 20 points. But I’ve noticed that some still show “Losslessly compressing (this image) could save . . . “

    Are there any tricks to compressing images any further?

    make sure you have remove metadata turned on (and you’ll need to use the “force” checkbox to get EWWW to re-optimize them).

    Thank you nosilver4u. Can you please tell me what type of comments this will remove? Also, isn’t metadata important for SEO purposes? Thanks.

    It will remove stuff like “Created by such and such…” or anything else that isn’t actual image data. It is completely irrelevant for SEO, that’s why Google and Yahoo tell you to remove it.
    alt and title tags are far more important for SEO
