• A few days ago I posted a problem where I could login to WordPress from certain computers but not others. Here is that question:

    Since that time one of the two good computers stopped working and then a day later the other did. Now I cannot login as administrator with the local account at all. I can still get logged in with my account on wordpress.com, but then, although I get the admin dashboard, it doesn’t appear that I can actually change anything. I tried adding a new admin user, but although there was no error, no user appeared.

    I do have ssh access. I tried renaming the plugins directory, but I got the same result.

    I am really at a loss here. How do I get logged in as admin again? I am getting desperate.

    it sounds like you have a security plugin that’s blocking your logins. What plugins do you have installed? Have you talked to your host about this? They can look at logs that might lend some clues.

    I am talking to their tech support now. However, I tried it with the plugins directory renamed. The look of the dialog changed (no option to login with WordPress.com) but got the same results.

    When I look at your site, I get a “if you’re not redirected in three seconds…” so I suspect something messed up with your hosting. If all plugins are disabled, it has to be your hosting. WP itself has no blocking tools.

    No, that is normal. Try it with a /wp at the end.

    Clearly, you still have plugins enabled because I see the jetpack login. The answer is in your server’s logs.

    Yes, I reenabled plugins after removing them didn’t help.
