Lost Functionality I Big Problem. Cannot be Trusted Long Term

    Developoer broken user trust by moving previously free functionality into expensive subscription version.

    Can no longer be trusted that next year more currently free options wont be moved into expensive subscription only version (maybe dev wants more money from it).

    Dev has proved unreliable and broken user trust.

    Avoid. There are other options available.

    I’m really sorry that you are disappointed here. Please let me clarify a few things: No features in the free version of TablePress were removed! I did however indeed discontinue and retire separate “TablePress Extension” plugins, which were available as add-ons on the TablePress website. For a long time, I tried making this sustainable by suggesting donations to its users. I invested a lot of time into these but having them as separate plugins was an additional maintenance burden that is now gone after integrating them directly. Also, just because I decided to once give these features away for free, it doesn’t mean that I have to do so indefinitely.

    Also, I have been delivering solid work on TablePress for over 15 years. So, I’m not sure why you consider necessary technical changes as breaking user trust?

    Again, I did not remove any features from the free version! Two years ago, I did however decide that some features that were available separately, as additional add-ons, should receive a new home in the TablePress premium versions, which now allow me to continue working on them and improving them continuously.

    Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback. I hope this clarifies the situation around the retired Extensions a bit and maybe you can reconsider you opinion of TablePress.
