Lost functionality with child theme

What I can’t figure out is how to run the navbar along the base of the header. I don’t want it to float right as I’ve added a contact number there(allow for that. A header needs a call to action on every site.). The navbar is basically sandwiched between the logo and the phone number. I”ve scoured different CSS forums for the answer and I don’t want to screw with the parent theme. I don’t know what to add here.
