Lost my support

Matt, you have completely lost it, and my support.

I updated this plugin believing it was Advanced Custom Fields and you basically stole the plugin. Yes, I know that the code was licensed in a way that made it possible for you to fork it. What you did unethically was deceive WordPress users by redirecting them to your forked copy of the plugin without informing them and first giving them the choice.

Even if you did not “steal” the code, you stole my time because you made me – as a paid freelance developer – go through all the sites that I manage, uninstall your replacement plugin, and re-install the Advanced Custom Fields plugin that I originally installed.

You have no right to do this!

If I was on the fence before about whether I should support you, or WP Engine, (because there were pluses and minuses on both sides) you have tipped me over to WP Engine’s side with this action. You have shown by this action your true colours and made me see things from WP Engine’s side much more clearly.

So, in summary, this is not the plugin I installed so I cannot give it 5 stars because the 5 stars is for Advanced Custom Fields, not “Secure Custom Fields”.
