try disabling all other plugins and try preview again. It sounds like plugin in conflicting with mdocs.

I disabled all plugins other than Memphis Doc Lib. Problem still remains.
The other plugins on the site (now deactivated) are Akismet Anti-Spam, Jetpack, Page Builder and Site Origin Widgets.

Next try changing your theme to a WordPress default theme.

The problem persists using themes 2015 and 2017.
Have you modified mdocs in any way. I took a quick look at our website and mdocs does not look like it is loading correctly

No modifications have been made to mdocs. I only noticed the problem when I uploaded a doc today and tried to preview. Then I checked other docs and the problem is there sometimes, sometimes not.
Might it be worth loading the previous version?

The site wasn’t loading correctly when I had the Page Builder plugins deactivated. They’ve been reactivated and the site looks ok, but the problem of Preview remains.
the href in the preview is
http://library.ssiwatersheds.ca/center.php
do you know what the file center.php is?
it seems to redirect your site to a site called papercoach. This doesn’t seem normal.

Odd. I don’t know the site. I’ll delete that file and see it that resolves the issue.

Using previous version of Mdocs didn’t help. I’m now restoring the site from a previous version to see if that is a fix.
let me know the results….

The problem still persists, I’m afraid. I’m not sure where to go next.
sounds to me like a server issue, something server side is causing a loading issue.
Have you made any updates to your server lately. Change your php configuration or your apache configuration in any way?

I’ve made no changes to the server recently. I upgraded to a VPS some months ago but the site has been working smoothly until recently. I’m building a new site on a subdirectory using a default WordPress theme and have mostly uploaded the docs in our library to it. There are a couple of hundred. This is the second time I’e had to take this action. It takes time as I can’t find a way to batch upload. Once I’ve rebuilt the site on the subdirectory I’ll replace the original site with it.
