Can you be more specific on what you mean by your account?
WordPress users are tied to the database, in the *prefix*_users table. So if you are referring to your user account, you can check the database or even create a new user right there.

I’m a bit new here…let me try to explain this better.
I started my WP site on MAMP (not WAMP as above) and developed the site off of my computer as the local host. MAMP doesn’t play nicely with GoDaddy’s servers, they told me to “delete” it and start over. I did. Bad advice.
At this point, when I tried to log-in at “localhost/…/wp-admin” (something to that effect), it would give me an invalid user where as it originally would take me to my Dashboard. So I reinstalled MAMP. I was able to “remap” the files and log back in. I lost everything.
So I started over and rebuild a “smaller” site to test it. When I changed the WP setting URL (from localhost to the domain), it automatically logged me out. Now when I try to log back into WP, it says I’m an invalid user again.
I don’t mind starting over, but I want to keep my WordPress user name. Is there a way I could upload WP to GoDaddy and start from there…leaving MAMP out of the picture. Seems to cause more issues than needed…would I be able to keep my WordPress user name. It’s unique.
Thanks so much for your help! Glad to know someone is out there that can point me in the right directly…
Bj
Why don’t you use godaddy’s one button install and choose the user name of your choice.
