Hi @cwipfli, interesting workflow..
If I would enable the YouTube background option for the Recent Posts slide, you would be able to enter one YouTube URL. That YouTube would start playing on every slide generated by the Recent Posts slide (so for example it would start playing on Post 1, and would start playing again on Post 2, and again on Post 3). This didn’t seem very useful to me, that’s why I disabled the YouTube and Video backgrounds for the Recent Posts slide.
Is this what you are looking for though?
If not could you explain how you would like this to work? In the WordPress admin (where exactly are the YouTube URLs coming from, where are they stored in WordPress, or where are they entered in WordPress)? And what would the slideshow be like exactly (one YouTube total for all Recent Posts, or one for each individual Post, or ..)?
Hello,
Thanks for you fast answer. Do you have understand my problem :-).
Actually it’s not possible to add from Zapier a data in a custom field, but i can:
Configure Zapier like:
– When a new video is available (in a channel, or in a user, or with a keyword…)
– Zapier add a new post in WP
– with the same title from youtube
– put the Youtube URL in the content
– with the category “Youtube Chanel A”
– mode “Draft”
Every morning, we check all new draft, copy/past the URL from the content to your custom field “youtube_url” and just click “Publish”.
In the Slides, we have a “Recents Posts/Background Youtube” from the “Magic slide stacks” with the 5 lasts posts… RESULT: with a very small manipulation (the copy/past of the Youtube URL), we have a every days news videos in our screen.
We do the same thing with RSS feeds, but, in this case we don’t need the copy/past because we don’t use a custom field. When a new News is in a RSS feed, Zapier add in WP a new post, with the Title, the content and the category “News from XYZ”. And a Slides read the 5 last posts from the category “News from XYZ”. Now, our News content change automatically.
I hope you can update for that, and can play the video from Post 1, and start playing again the video from Post 2, and again on Post 3…
SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH !
Best regards,
Christian
Hi Christian,
Thought about this for a bit..
What I can imagine is that Foyer adds a metabox ‘Foyer background’ to each blog post, where you can specify the YouTube URL (and other background settings). That way you have a field where you can copy/paste the YouTube URL, and each slide generated by the Recent posts slide could play it’s own YouTube background.
This feature is not very high on my list, but I could build it for your website if you have a small budget available. Just contact me here: https://foyer.tv/send-info/
Best!
