I recently installed the “Newsletter” plgin to start sending out newsletters. The issue I’m running into is that when I try to send an email, I get the following error: “The following From address failed: [email protected] : MAIL FROM command failed,: Sender address rejected: not owned by user”

The address I would like to send newsletters from is different from the address I have saved in WP Mail. Is there any way to allow the Newsletter plugin to use that “From” email for the newsletter?

    Hi @noellecd ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Please kindly note that this error is returned by your SMTP provider. It does not allow the use of the [email protected] email address as a sender. You need to use the same email address in general if you are not using transactional mailers, and the force from email option is not enabled.

As an alternative, you can configure any other mailers from here, or have the force from email option enabled.

    Transactional Mailers

Transactional email service providers such as our #1 recommended mailer, SendLayer, are perfect for sending emails from your WordPress site. If it’s contact form notifications or e-commerce emails, they will deliver them quickly and reliably.

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), SMTP.com, SendGrid, and Mailgun are also transactional email service providers if you’d like to consider your options.

Transactional mailers also allow you to send emails with custom ‘From Email’ specific to your domain (examples: [email protected], [email protected]). And if you don’t use force from email option, and the domain is verified on the the mailer, then you will be able to use any email address.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks 🙂
