OptinMonster signup notifications come through Monster Leads which you can configure as per the guide here: https://optinmonster.com/docs/connect-monster-leads-optinmonster/#Lead_Notifications
For MailChimp, you need to configure them in MailChimp: https://mailchimp.com/help/change-subscribe-and-unsubscribe-notifications/
For the fact you see a message to upgrade, that is in case you want to add a Google Analytics integration. To add MailChimp along with Monster Leads, you can edit the campaign >> Click Integrations >> Add New >> Search for MailChimp and add it to your Campaign by entering the required details. Thank you for this information. I will let you know if it helps. If I want the Mailchimp integration to work successfully, should I only have that as my integration and disconnect Monsterleads? Or can you have both of these connected at the same time even though it says, only one integration allowed without upgrading?

We recommend using both, and you can have both enabled even with a free subscription. MonsterLeads can simply serve as a backup to your MailChimp integration (ALWAYS good to have a backup of one of your most important assets)!

Thank you for that information. We pay for the basic yearly plan for Optinmonster and I am afraid that it’s not being used. Are you able to check on this somehow for me or tell me how to confirm that we are using it. I am also having some email troubles. Since we have Optinmonster and Mailchimp integrated, we use the Optinmonster popup campaign to get subscribers and then Mailchimp sends a confirm subscription email and a welcome email. The only problem is that customers keep telling me these emails are being sent to spam. Mailchimp doesn’t seem to provide much support unless you pay for a higher plan. Do you have any insight on why this would be happening or how we can stop it from happening? Thank you!

As you are paying for an OptinMonster plan, I recommend reaching out to the support team directly here: https://optinmonster.com/contact-us/ by clicking Share a Question and mention the issue of the account. The team there will be able to gather the required information and help locate your paid account.
Once that is located, they can send it over to the Paid Support team so they can help you with the integration and email issues.
