Mailchimp creating empty products?

    We are experiencing an issue where empty products are being created in one of our sites within a WordPress/WooCommerce multisite network with the Mailchimp for Woocommerce plugin. This continues to happen even after we have deactivated the plugin.

    In the logs, we can trace the issue back to mailchimp_woocommerce and the MailChimp_WooCommerce_Process_Full_Sync_Manager hook. This occurs even though we have deactivated the plugin on the site where we are experiencing the problem (empty products are not created on the main site, only on the other site in the network).

    Despite deactivating the MailChimp plugin, the MailChimp_WooCommerce_Process_Full_Sync_Manager hook continues to run, creating empty products in our WooCommerce store. We have tried manually removing scheduled actions and deregistering the hook using PHP code, but the issue persists.

    Can you please assist us with this issue!

    Hi! We are sorry you are not having the best time with plugin. Lets get you squared away – You mentioned you already attempted to deactivate and do some manual removal, but, lets also try

    To deactivate webhooks for Mailchimp for WooCommerce, this way:

    1. Access your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the Plugins tab.
    2. Locate the Mailchimp for WooCommerce plugin, click Deactivate to disable the plugin without removing it. This will stop all associated webhooks and syncing processes between WooCommerce and Mailchimp.
    3. If needed, you can click the Delete link to remove the plugin completely, which will delete any plugin code or tables used in the installation. This action will also remove webhooks related to the Mailchimp plugin. However, keep in mind that unsubscribing, subscribing, or marking customers as transactional will preserve their status even after uninstallation.

    If you only want to deactivate webhooks without deactivating the plugin, or for some reason the above method does not work, you can also manually review and remove webhooks from your Mailchimp Audience:

    1. Log in to your Mailchimp account.
    2. Select the Audience you want to disconnect from WooCommerce.
    3. Navigate to “Manage Audience” and then to “Settings”.
    4. Click on “Webhooks” and review the webhooks related to your WooCommerce store.
    5. Remove any unnecessary webhooks that are related to the WooCommerce integration.

    Hi! As I said before the plugin is deactivated on this site but active on the main site in the network. We tried to deactivate webhooks from Mailchimp but could not find anything about syncing products. Only subrscribers. How do we turn of the product sync? The main site would like to have the plugin active if possible. The second site (where the emtpy products is created) doesn’t need the sync.

    Any news on this? During the weekend Mailchimp has created 2500 empty products…

    @emeove this is very odd and has never been picked up in any testing or QA on our end. Where exactly are you seeing these empty products? Do you have an example to show? Is this on your actual website, or in Mailchimp?

    There’s nothing that would be causing the creation of a product in your store in our plugin code but it could be a combination of “events” firing with other plugins that might be doing something wonky…

    If you don’t want to enable the plugin and activate the remote support, we can’t really see anything going on with your site, but rest assured we will help you get to the bottom of this the best we can.

    Hello! Thank you for your response. It could very well be something else causing the issue, but the fact that these Mailchimp hooks are running in conjunction with the creation of the empty products is our only clue. Therefore, it felt like a good first step to try to remove these hooks so that we can rule out your plugin, but as mentioned, they still seem to be running despite us deactivating the plugin.

    @emeove have you “deleted” or just “deactivated” the plugin? I’m wondering if that had anything to do with this. Can you try deleting it and let us know if they still happen?
