    Hello,

Apologies for starting a seperate thread, but this is a different critical issue:

Configuring the integration with MailChimp and assigning fields, I am trying to match two critical new/ updated fields:

    • New / Renew member: Radio with text for each option (“new” / “renew”)
    • Position: Text

I change it –> save it (it sticks) –> update the form –> check the configuration again: it says “none” showing that the set-up was not saved.

I have tried it multiple times, refreshing multiple times, but to no avail.

I have also used the integration for a long time now with no such issue before.

As always, I very much appreciate your help.

    Thank you kindly

    HI @leelalee,

Is the issue for the above with the same form as noticed in this ticket? Or are you able to replicate with newer forms when tested?

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/mailchimp-glitch-not-all-integrated-fields-updated/

I change it –> save it (it sticks) –> update the form –> check the configuration again: it says “none” showing that the set-up was not saved.

Could you please share a screenshot of which exact fields you have assigned which doesn’t get saved so that we could have a better idea?

If you could also share a form export it would helpful. Please check the following doc on how to export a form:

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export

If you are concerned about any sensitive information in the form, then you can duplicate your form, remove any sensitive information, and then export it.

You can share the export file via Google Drive, Dropbox or any cloud service in the next reply.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Nithin

    Hi @wpmudevsupport11

Thank you again so much for your help.

I can confirm – it is the same form.

The same relevant info: Here the screenshot of my MailChimp merger tags:

Here the link to my form export:

Also, please find a screenshot of the fields which do not retain assignment:

    1. If someone selected new/ or renewal of a membership in the form (‘new’; or ‘renewal’ should e submitted to the corresponding MailChimp field): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xrzew2QP_PryoqnPcNugjrEvndgODmZq/view?usp=sharing
    2. Someone’s position in the organisation: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U0pB3NtNmV0z2w8xQUoB60G9mMgGWksM/view?usp=sharing

Thank you so much for your help and please let me know if you need any further information.

    HI @leelalee,

I can confirm – it is the same form.

Are you able to replicate in a new form? ie even if you duplicate the same form again?

That’s an odd behaviour, I’m not able to replicate any such issues when tested. Since the current version of Forminator I noticed you have is 1.30.2, to start with please do update the plugin to the latest version ie 1.31 and see if that makes any difference.

The latest version of Forminator has a lot of fixes, so would highly recommend you check and see how it behaves.

If the issue is still the same even after the above and since I couldn’t replicate similar when tested. Please do let us know how it behaves if you temporarily disable all the plugins except Forminator and with a default WP Theme like Twenty Twenty-Four.

The above step will give a better idea regarding the issues noticed. You can run the above test in a staging site. Your host should help with setting up a staging or you can check this for more info:

    https://www.inmotionhosting.com/blog/wordpress-staging-plugins/

Please do let us know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @wpmudevsupport11

Many thanks for your quick response.

I have now updated all plugins. The issue persists.

I recorded the issue for you of the field ‘Position’ not sticking in the MailChimp integration set-up, despite saving and updating it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zf-eb7qIEqWsGdzEvahl4iElp80hvHgd/view?usp=sharing

[Further (this may be related?): A user reported that the Forminator form appears to have trouble accepting two words or more as a response in the field ‘position’.]

The same applies for the field new/renew, here a video of what I mean: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lj4dlfBsnp8zxRURyGV7V7JOPvK78qye/view?usp=sharing

If this doesn’t help, I will do more tests on the staging site, however, as there are live payments attached to this form, it is not overly straight forward to test it on a staging site.

Again, thank you so much for your help.

    Best,

    Anila

    Hi @leelalee

    Thank you for response!

I understand that Forminator is in its newest version already, right?

It’s a bit weird behavior indeed and looks almost as if some data was “stuck” in some way. Two common reasons for that are:
    – DB data – serialized array in which related data is stored – being slightly corrupted/broken due to some unexpected glitch
    – and/or caching; usually that’d be server-level caching, often an object cache (which is type of cache that stores responses to the DB queries).

What happens if you duplicate the form and then try to set those field mappings in MailChimp on that new copy of the form? Have you tried that? If not – please do and let us know.

Do you know if there is any kind of server-side cache (especially object cache) active and if yes, does purging it help?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi @leelalee

We didn’t hear back from you for quite some time already so I’m marking this topic as resolved for now.

However, if you still require assistance or have any additional questions, just let us know and we’ll be ready to get back to this case.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi @wpmudev-support8 ,

I unfortunately still require assistance. Apologies for the break in communication.

I now discovered, that further to what I raised (with Mailchimp fields mapped not sticking):

The ‘source’ field imported into MailChimp is the name of a test integration API (which I am no longer using, as it was for testing). The ‘live’ API name, which is accurately recorded in the Forminator submission in Wirdoress therefore gets somehow corrupted to an old API name and recorded as such within MailChimp. Does this also point towards a Cache issue?

I will try and investigate your hosting-directed recommended steps (which I am not yet familiar with).

    Many thanks

    Hi @leelalee

    Thank you for response!

Actually, yes – what you described also seems to be in line with what I wrote previously. For now, I think we should still focus on the things that I asked back then:

    1. What happens if you duplicate the form and then try to set those field mappings in MailChimp on that new copy of the form? Have you tried that? If not – please do and let us know.

    2. Do you know if there is any kind of server-side cache (especially object cache) active and if yes, does purging it help?

    but also

    3. what happens if you completely remove MailChimp integration from both form itself and the plugin (“Forminator -> Integrations” page, if you see more than one MailChimp instances connected there, try removing all of them) and then connect and configure it again entirely from scratch?

Let’s start with that and see where it gets us next.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
