Hi @dabeecher, we’ve been able to recreate on our end and it appears to be a caching bug that we can tweak in a future release.
– When checking the subscribe box for someone from the admin, that value doesn’t appear to “stick”.
– But, if you view the plugin logs there is a successful transmission over to Mailchimp for the customer update.
– Currently, there is a 5 minute cache on that admin screen that we need to change up a bit so it reflects the chosen status on reload.
– This is already in testing for our next release to be fixed, we understand that’s not a great user experience, but the subscriber status is accurately reflected after 5 minutes.
We appreciate the feedback, we’ll get things fixed up as soon as possible.
Thanks @khungate,
I will give this a test and let you know.
Is there a way I can bulk subscribe all my users, technically if I updated the meta field in the database and waited would this achieve the same thing and would I see it within the MailChimp log?
Hi @dabeecher, we ended up fast-tracking that UX bug we talked about yesterday. It was driving us bonkers as well 🙂 The fix has been pushed up today in v2.7.5.
To answer your question about bulk subscribing, we’d recommend doing that in Mailchimp directly. On sync, we’ll grab the status of a matching email and update the customer accordingly.
Let us know if you have any other questions, thanks again for your patience.
Hi @khungate,
Really appreciate the update, I’ve updated the plugin.
The issue I have with doing this within MailChimp its self is the following error when trying to “Resubscribe” the user.
Error
1 contact was not included (already unsubscribed, did not opt in to marketing, cleaned).
Hi @dabeecher, if you’ve already tried another Audience and giving you that error, your best bet would be to contact the support folks who work with that feature a bit more than we do.
Sorry to pass you off, but our team is primarily focused on the engineering of the plugin itself. You can contact them here at this support link, good luck and let us know if there’s anything else we can do.
