• Hi- after 3 months of trying to set up scheduled blog post notification sending, I am still getting an error code. The same problem happens no matter which scheduler I use, and neither blog posts nor Newsletters can be sent. I’m now wondering whether Mailpoet is just not compatible with Bluehost servers… I really need to be able to have these scheduled post updates/newsletters delivered. Does anyone have any idea what else this could be? I am ready to pack it in after struggling with this for months without any support.

    Hi @lynnefed ,

Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with this. MailPoet is compatible with Bluehost — this type of issue is most commonly caused by a security service (like Cloudflare or a firewall rule) blocking MailPoet’s internal task scheduler from connecting.

When the task scheduler can’t connect, Post Notifications and Newsletters will both fail to send, regardless of which scheduler option you select in MailPoet’s settings.

To help you further, could you please share the following?

    1. Go to MailPoet > Help > System Status
    2. Please share a copy of the full System Status page so we can see any errors in the Cron or Sending Queue sections

In many Bluehost cases, switching to server-side cron (Linux cron) in MailPoet’s Advanced settings resolves this. But this requires also setting up the cron job in your Bluehost cPanel > Advanced > Cron Jobs — just toggling the setting in MailPoet alone isn’t enough.

    These guides should help:

I also see you have an open support request — we’ll continue helping you there as well. Please share the System Status info in either place and we’ll get this sorted out for you
