MailPoet mss.ERROR: key-validation.failed

Emails are no longer being sent, and I see this error message in the error log:

[2023-09-20T14:27:58.554308+00:00] mss.ERROR: key-validation.failed {“http_code”:403,”home_url”:”https://tprepublicanclub.ddns.net”,”key_type”:”premium”} {“free_plugin_version”:”4.28.0″,”premium_plugin_version”:”premium not installed”}I have started getting this error message

My key verifies as valid, but I am using the free version, not the premium one, so why is MailPoet thinking this is a premium key?

I generated a new key (free version) and activated it – validation appears to succeed, but no verification email received:

Hi @prw1947,

Regarding the error you shared with us, this is expected, as you’re using a free plan and this is the check for the Premium key. It’s done for all keys and, in your case, it’s expected that it fails for the Premium features.

When checking your account, I found that some email addresses from your domain had been marked as “Bounced” in our system, probably because by the time the emails were sent to them, they were not valid yet.

I removed them from our suppression list now. I also noticed two email addresses from @tampabay.rr.com bouncing back due to policy related issues. Please see https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/understanding-email-error-codes for more information on error 1010.
