Hello there @mawabo ,
Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing after activating the MailPoet plugin. I’d be happy to assist you in resolving this.
When WordPress encounters a critical error, it typically sends an email to the admin email address linked to your website. The subject line of this email usually contains the phrase “Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue”.
Could you kindly check your email inbox for this message? and search using the phrase? If you don’t see it in your primary inbox, I recommend checking your spam or junk folder as well.
Once you locate the email, it should include more information about the error. Please either take a screenshot or copy the error details and send it to us so we can investigate further and help you resolve the issue.
If you’re unable to find the email, let me know, and I’ll guide you on other steps to troubleshoot this issue.
Looking forward to your response.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Unfortunately I could not find the email. I was hoping to find it too but nothing on the email linked with my admin account.
I would appreciate a guide on steps to troubleshoot this issue.
Hello again @mawabo ,
Thank you for getting back to me and letting me know you weren’t able to find the email. No worries,we can work through this together!
To retrigger the email about the critical error, you can try the following steps:
- Trigger the Error
- Try to activate the MailPoet plugin again or perform the action that caused the critical error.
- This should retrigger the error, and WordPress should attempt to send the admin email again.
- Check the
debug.log File
- If you still don’t receive the email, you can check the
debug.log file in the wp-content folder for details about the error.
- Download the file, locate the most recent entries, and share the relevant error message with us.
- Use Your Hosting Provider’s Error Logs
- Many hosting providers maintain error logs for your website. If you’re unable to access the
debug.log file or need further details, you can reach out to your host’s support team to review the error logs on your behalf.
Please try these steps and let us know what you find. If you encounter any issues along the way, feel free to share more details, and we’ll guide you further.
Looking forward to resolving this for you!
