MailPoet Shortcode

Hi,

I am trying to use the shortcode suggested here https://spiffycalendar.spiffyplugins.ca/mailpoet-newsletters/

Nothing is appearing in the e-mail except the shortcode itself.

Is there any steps that have to be carried out first to make it work and if so is there a guide somewhere please?
