Main Overflow Problem in Twentyten

Hi,

I’ve customized my date classes in the Twentyten WordPress theme and I need to have it jump over to the other side of the content area. I can adjust the margin and it will move…

Thing is, I can’t move anything beyond the ‘main’ area.
I noticed its because of the main overflow area, which is set to hidden. If I set it to visible, the entire background disappears from the main area.

Is there anyway to let the background stay white and allow the main overflow?
