Mine looks nothing like it either. I have tried for weeks. I finally found the readme.txt file at https://github.com/kovshenin/expound/blob/master/readme.txt but that doesnt help. How the heck do we get featured posts? I dont even see that option. Help me before I give up!
Problem fixed after I change my monitor to wide screen.
You can get your featured posts by going to posts button under the dashboard.
Add new. New post window comes out and then you scroll all the way down or on the right side ( depends on how you set your screen layout). Please try to find featured image, and click set featured images. Upload files. After uploaded the image and click set featured image button. If you don’t see featured image. You will have to go to screen options which it’s located right hand side of top corner ( next to help ) . Open the screen options tab and check the featured image box. After that I am sure you should have no trouble finding featured image. I hope it helped. If not, you can find a lot tips from YouTube. It showed a lot of how to use wordpress. Don’t give up. This is nice theme for your website.
