    Hello!
    I’m sorry for late reply.
Please tell me – what do you mean by “Maintenance Mode”? I mean when you install our plugin – it give you 3 main options:
    1. Coming soon – will show one of pre-selected templates instead of your site for your visitor while you will edit your site (logged-in as admin).
    2. Redirect – will redirect your users to some other location until you will finish your work
    3. 503 header response – this will show 503 error, will mean for users that your site is unavailable, but search engines will understand this as “site is ok, just went to some development”
So please describe – what exactly should Maintenance Mode do?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me…I guess I thought that the flow of doing a new website would be:
    1) under construction/maintenance mode
    2) coming soon
    3) open

I got this from the plugin description:

The Coming Soon by Supsystic plugin has three modes, “Coming Soon”, “Maintenance / Under Construction” and “Redirect”. The design and front-end of your site will not look exactly when you activate coming soon page. The Coming Soon page or Launch page will be open to search engines and users, while Maintenance / Underconstruction mode will inform search engines that your site is temporarily in under construction.

I don’t know enough about the 503 Header Response to know if this is the same thing…

Also, with the redirect option, is it possible to redirect the users to a specific page on the site (say I want to create a page specifically for use when under construction/maintenance) such as site.com/maintenance? I assume I could exclude that URL from the redirect, but then all other pages/posts on the site would be redirected to this specific page? (Hope that question makes sense!)

    Thanks again for your responsiveness!

Oh, I forgot to mention that the four options I see for the plugin are:
    1) Disabled
    2) Coming Soon
    3) Redirect to URL
    4) 503 Header Response (by the way, “response” is spelled wrong in the plugin admin panel) 🙂

…not sure if that helps or not to understand my ‘confusion.’

    Thanks again! 🙂

    Hello!

Coming Soon, Maintenance mode or Under Construction – these all terms means the same – it is the option, which allows you to show one of professional coming soon templates instead of your site for your visitors while you will edit your site. We have described all these terms on plugin page because each user can called this functionality in different ways – somebody calls it coming soon mode – as the site will launch soon, somebody – under construction mode – as the site is still under development, and somebody can call it maintenance mode – that mean, that site under support mode and is not available for viewing.
If you think that these three terms mean different concepts – please tell us about this.

Also you can to redirect users to a specific page on your site and exclude this URL from the redirect.
    1. Go to the Coming Soon Settings.
    2. Activate “Redirect to URL” mode.
    3. In “Redirect URL” field enter URL where visitors will be redirected when visit your site while it is in Maintenance mode.
    4. In “Exclude URLs” field enter the same url.
    5. Save the settings.
    6. Check the site in another browser or logout in order to check it.

Also, thank you for spelling remarks. We will fix it.

Hi there! Thanks again for getting back to me so quickly (I’m sorry it’s taken me a bit to get back to you now…)

Thank you for the clarification on the terminology…that makes sense to me now and I understand. Also, thank you for the redirection/exclusion suggestion — I will give that a try tomorrow and let you know if there are any issues with that solution.

By the way, when I switched from enabled to disabled (using one of the built in templates that I had customized), I lost some of the formatting when I went back to re-enable it. Specifically, the font color on the count down timer (just the numbers counting down, not the “hours”, “minutes”, etc.). That may be the only thing that I lost…I can’t remember now! 🙂

    Thanks again!

Hello – I tested the redirect/exclude as you advised above and it seems like that is working how it should! Thank you very much for your time and patience with me!
