Maintenance mode blocks InfiniteWP

    Hi,
    I’m using InfiniteWP to manage my sites. When I enable the Maintenance Mode in BPS, InfiniteWP can’t access the site anymore, thus it can’t update plugins. This hadn’t been an issue some months ago, so it must be related to an update of BPS some time ago.

    Is there a solution to this?

    Do you have backend MMode enabled? I do not think frontend MMode would block InfiniteWP since InfiniteWP makes a backend connection to your wp-admin area. Turn Off backend MMode if it is turned on and let me know what happens.

    No, I don’t have backend MMode enabled!

    In InfiniteWP I get the response:
    HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable – The request was not completed. The server is temporarily overloading or down.

    That would mean something has changed in the InfiniteWP plugin then. There have not been any significant changes made to MMode in over a year or more. There have been minor internal changes to MMode, but none of them are frontend changes.

    Are you sure the problem is MMode? Have you tried to turn off MMode to see if InfiniteWP can access the site?

    When I turn off MMode InfiniteWP can access the site.

    Ok check the BPS Security Log for any Security Log entries related to InfiniteWP and post one of them in your forum reply so I can see what is being blocked.

    No entries regarding InfiniteWP to be found.

    I checked the InfiniteWP website and I do not see any information on how to whitelist InfiniteWP IP Address(es). Other remote plugins have IP addresses you can use for whitelisting. Try contacting InfiniteWP and see if they can provide you with an IP address(es) that you can use in the MMode “Maintenance Mode IP Address Whitelist Text Box”. Otherwise the only option left is that you would have to turn off MMode to do any InfiniteWP plugin upgrades.
