Make A Static Page

    Hi, First of all, thank you for the very nice theme. It’s very easy to customize.

    I want to know if it is possible to make a new template page as the front page using the static page option, while the current main page as the blog page?

    I know I can do that directly from the setting>reading option. But what I’m trying to do is to modify the new template page by adding different looks, for example making it 2 colomn instead of single coloumn, adding certain category, post list, etc.

    I’ve also noticed that there are several page files inside the theme folder, which are: page-blank, page-c, page-cs,page-sc,page-scs and page-sitemap. Will it be possible to add a new page template and make it as my custom home page?

    Sorry about my English language and the poor explanation, believe me it’s hard … 🙂

    There’s already a 2 column page layout, why not use that?
    If you want to add specific widgets that will only appear on that specific page then you can use widget logic.

    I think I’ve said it wrong. Let me try another way. I know the theme can add widget above or below content of post, but instead I want to add maybe several pair of widget (position side by side), either above or below my front page content and stiil with the sidebar on the right. That is the “2 column” I meant at first.

    I hope this time my explanation is better said then before. Thank you in advance.

    You could use either the Before Content or After Content widget area. You can use CSS to position those widgets in two columns side by side.
    This is just a sample:

    .widget-before-content {
    float: left;
    margin-right: 2%;
    width: 48%;
}

    If you still prefer to do this by creating a new page template then you can copy one of the page templates to your child theme then edit the file’s Template Name.
