Please make sure that you have assigned to each child taxonomy its parent. If you did not completed this the function will not correctly act.

the strange thing is I did exactly the same. But if you check you will see the Mercedes models als when selecting BMW.
You need to resave single listings and make sure that you updated the plugin to the latest version. At the moment in your inventory page there is no Make Models custom fields. Also, it is recommended to check by temporarily deactivating all the extra third-party and caching plugins as well.
