• Hi there
I am trying to improve my site speed. My ad management company suggested making javascript asynchronous. i can see quite a few scripts listed that are from Kale in my theme.
Can I safely make them asynchronous and defer them?
the ones I see listed are:
    bootstrap.min.js
    bootstrap-select.min.js
    jquery.smartmenus.js
    jquery.smartmenus.bootstrap.js
    owl.carousel.min.js
    kale.js

    Thanks
    Lucy

  • Hi bakingqueen74.

Thank you for contacting us and for using our theme. We appreciate it.

Yes, you can use one of quite a lot of plugins available for caching/minification of JS, CSS and HTML and if I may suggest one, try Fast Velocity Minify – https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/fast-velocity-minify/

In an unlikely event that you encounter any issue, it is usually because of JavaScript settings so play with them a bit until everything works.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards.

    HI there
    thanks a lot.
I was able to make javascript asynchronous, but now am trying to use Autoptimize to make css inline. If Ido this though the menu bar stops working. Can you tell me what I would need to exclude to stop it breaking the menu bar?

    thanks
    Lucy

    You’re welcome.

    Glad that you’re making progress.

Can you tell me whether you use Autoptimize solely or together with the Fast Velocity Minify I suggested?
If together that’s basically a bad idea because two plugins for the same purpose can start overlapping and cause issues.

    Kind regards.
