Hi @markmy,
You can simply mark one lesson incomplete for the student and mark it complete after the new certificate has been added.
Then, once marked complete, the student will also get the new certificate.
Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your quick answer.
I was aware of this might work and I have tried it. However the certificate does not get the new certificate for some reason.
The new certificate is saved in LifterLMS and the preview shows it correctly.
BUT If I mark unfinished and finished the last lesson it says that course is complete but in the user dashboard I can only get the old one…

@markmy
Do you have a cache plugin active on your site? If you do, you may need to exclude these URLs from the cache: https://lifterlms.com/docs/caching-issues-faqs/#exclusions

Thank you. Well… no luck so far…
Cache is now disabled (redis), but it does not help. I have upgraded LifterLMS to the newest version (4.5.0).
I try mark lesson uncompleted and again completed but certificate says excactly the same…
What else can I do to get the newest certificate, we need a way to get it updated. Hopefully there is some way to do this…
Thanks!

Hi @markmy,
I really can’t say what is going on here. Disabling the cache should fix this. Are you sure your web host does not have server-side caching enabled? This may also cause this issue.
However, I really don’t know how to be of help here if it doesn’t still work.
Thank you ๐

Thanks, I’ll try to check this once more… Can you say from the technical point, where can I find the generated certificates (maybe in the posts table?) so I could debug it a little bit?
Thanks!

I was able to check the database and in posts there is post type “llms_my_certificate”. There I can find only the original certificates… not the new ones.
So the new ones have not been generated at all, not a cache problem? Is this a bug in the functionality?
Hi @markmy,
When you marked the lesson incomplete, and then complete again, had you deleted the previously existing certificate from the user’s profile?
If not, then LifterLMS will recognize that the certificate has already been assigned and not assign it again.
To delete a previously existing certificate you’ll want to go into LifterLMS->Reporting->Locate the Student->Locate the Certificates tab. There you’ll see the ability to delete the old version. Then you can go into the student’s course and mark the lesson in complete and complete again.
Let us know if this helps!
Thanks and take care,

Thank you Natalie! This was the missing point for me! Deleting the old certificate did the trick. I’m not sure if I had checked that Reporting -tab before – looks very good feature.
Thanks and have a best weekend! ๐
