How can I make the thumbnails larger in the native carousel?

And how can I add a left and right arrow to the native carousel?

And can they be stacked vertically?

Beyond the CSS approach which would require advanced skills, you might think about using a plugin for this. It sounds like the Product Gallery Slider for WooCommerce plugin might do the job for you.
