Making my .com my wordpress

I am trying to make my .com my wordpress, so when people type in my .com they will see my wordpress but not user.wordpress.com

I own my own .com through google (godaddy) and I followed all the steps, I looked at all the how-tos etc etc, but I still can’t get it to work, what on earth am I supposed to do? this shouldn’t be that hard.

I’m not a programming wiz, but I’m also no newbie to the world of computers.

Someone please help
