Making one-off unique payments

Hello,

My client want to be able to put through one-off payments of a unique amount, by taking credit card info over the phone and putting through a payment to their PayPal account. I said they could do that for products relatively easily, either by having their own account on the website or making one on behalf of the customer.

Now they want to put through these random one-off payments, and they said they will “just make a product for that amount then delete it” but I said that’s not a good way around it. What would be a good solution to this problem? Is there a plugin, or maybe a way to deal direct with paypal? They specifically want to “avoid the trouble of sending them an email requesting payment”. They are going to get a shock when they try to make this online business work, that’s for sure.
