Wordfence continues to find cached pages from my website infected with malicious referral links. I delete the cache but the pages keep coming back. None of the non-cached pages have the malicious links.

How can these modified pages be inserted into the cache?

Are they being served up to site visitors?

@samdobrow I suspect that’s a false positive alarm, however for security reason, I’d suggest you run a malware scan and check for the cached files.

I’m receiving Wordfence scan alerts on dozens of cached pages with VIAGRA links. I purge the cache and the alerts go away for a day then the corrupt pages begin repopulating themselves in the cache. I haven’t been notified of the links by any visitors but that doesn’t mean they aren’t being pushed out by the cache.

@samdobrow WP-Optimize generates cache files from your site pages/posts, so I’d request you to run a malware scan on your site including database and check for any malware on your site

Thank you for your reply. I run malware scans daily and that is how I found the malware in the cache, but nothing else is detected.

@samdobrow Unless the malware is on the main pages of your website WP-Optimize will never create its own files it will cache the pages on your site and will create the cached files.

I’d recommend to perform a site scan at Sucuri.net for deeper scan on your site pages.
