Hello @tstone,
It’d be ideal if your friend could create their own WordPress.com account so to connect with Jetpack and your store by using their own account.
There is no limit to the number of Jetpack connections you can have on your site.
I’d highly recommend having your friend set up their own WordPress.com account, then, and use it to connect Jetpack. You can explain to them that Jetpack uses a WordPress.com username and password and this is likely to be different to the username and password you use on your self-hosted WordPress site. Think of it as a Jetpack account rather than a WordPress account.
If they haven’t set up a WordPress.com account yet they can sign up for free here:

Hope that answers your question! Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or need some more help.

Aha! I thought that would make it difficult for me to access my shop via the app.
It is not as obvious how to set it up for two users as it was before with the original WooCommerce app. Where in the Jetpack settings do I manage/add the Jetpack users connected to the site?
Hi there,
You can go to the WordPress.com dashboard > Select Site > Users > Invites, then invite your friend as shop manager. Your friend will then receive an email to accept the invitation. After accepting invitation, ask them to go to the WooCommerce app and log in with the same WordPress.com account which you invited as shop manager.

Ah, I apologize for being unclear. This is not a wordpress.com site, but a self-hosted WordPress installation.
Hi @tstone
The WordPress.com dashboard is accessible even to self-hosted WordPress installations, as long as the Jetpack plugin is installed and connected to a WordPress.com account as explained in our guide:
https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/
You may want to go ahead with that and see how this goes 🙂
Best,
