    Hello Support. I’ve been using this plugin for 2 years without any issues.

    Last week, I updated 3 live articles on my site. Same as I’ve been doing for years.

    Then yesterday, I looked at them, and only 1 of them is updated with new changes. The other 2 articles completely reverted to their previous states. No history of them in Simple History, nothing.

    Also happening: I can’t create a Manual backup in Updraft Plus AND the automatic is failing. Both of these for the first time since using the plugin. After updating the 3 live articles last week, I tried creating a Manual backup (which I always do after making edits). This time, “backup begun” but never started. So I aborted. Then last night, the automatic weekly was supposed to run, and it never did either.

    Other info: Haven’t downloaded, added, or used any new plugins in months. Only light work updating and publishing new articles the last several weeks.

    I don’t know if the Updraft Plus issue is related to my articles reverting…or they are separate issues.

    My host, BigScoots, is looking into this too. They haven’t seen any issues or errors on their end yet.

    UPDATE:

    My host (BigScoots) told me they did an internal migration/sync last week that may have causing the reversions and thrown something out of sync with Updraft Plus. They told me they reset all caching. I then:

    1. Reauthenticated Google Drive to Updraft Plus. The backup still doesn’t start. I then disabled BigScoots Redis caching, Updraft Plus still doesn’t start. Reenabled Redis caching.
    2. Downloaded WPVivid to test…backup completed successfully in 3 minutes.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the detailed report.

    For the backup issue, since it shows “backup begun” but does not proceed while another plugin works, this usually points to a server-level restriction or process being blocked.

    Please check with your host if there are any firewall/mod_security rules, loopback issues, or process restrictions affecting UpdraftPlus, especially after the migration.

    Actually, if my hosts backups are working, and another plug-ins backup is working…it points to an Updraft issue, probably caused by my host doing their internal sync/migration. What likely happened was that my host doing an internal sync/migration on their end caused some kind of “lock” internally on my WordPress that Updraft plus got stuck with. Which is why after the migration, downloading and using WPVivid worked, because it’s on the new state. My guess is that by deleting (not disactivating) Updraft then re-downloading it, it would then work. Thanks.
